HOT From Koch :: Recording Artist Lynne Timmes Carlock Brings "Human" to Historic Whisky A Go Go

Pop/rock recording artist Lynne Timmes Carlock will share her unique songwriting blend of catchy up-tempos and classic ballads with the Sunset Strip crowd tomorrow at the legendary Whisky a Go Go, as part of the venue’s Women Rock series. The singer-songwriter will perform songs from her latest LP, “Human.”

Carlock’s original sound and style transcends musical genres, drawing and influence from such icons as Alanis Morissette, Fiona Apple and Sarah McLachlan. Carlock’s powerful and heartfelt vocals, melded with her sophisticated and melodic songwriting, create a unique musical style that has been embraced by a wide range of listeners. Tracks from her “Human” release have been receiving heavy play across the country on platforms such as Radio AOL, Women of Substance Radio, Appleseed Radio and on New York’s premiere rock station Q104.3.

On “Human,” Carlock combines talents with her new husband, Keith Carlock, acclaimed drummer of Sting and Steely Dan, who provided the beats on the title track as well as other tracks on the album. Energetic producer Shane McConnell was called upon to fuse and inject the direction of the CD, keeping it fresh and unique. Four of the tracks welcomed the visionary input of Steve Skinner (Bette Midler and Chaka Khan), as Arnie Roman (Cher, Trisha Yearwood, Pointer Sisters and Celine Dion) brought his eclectic styling to the full-length release.

Carlock’s greatest fulfillment comes from being able to perform her music to live audiences. Her truth and passion, which is ignited in her deliverance and aura on stage, is a golden testament to that. Tomorrow night, Carlock, accompanied by the genial vocal offerings of her backup singers, cousin Stephanie Float and Jennifer Dearing, will deliver the truth in her fun and sophisticated songs.

Lynne Timmes Performs will perform at Whisky a Go Go’s night of Women In Rock tomorrow, Feb. 26 at 9 p.m., at 8901 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood., 90069. For ticketing information, please call 917.345.8090.

HOT From Koch :: Laura Bryna to Perform at Salute to Our Troops Dinner Gala

Laura Bryna will lend her talent to the United Service Organizations’ (USO) Salute to Our Troops dinner in Baltimore, Md., on Thursday, November 12th. The event will honor patients from local military hospitals, and attendees will include military officials, Maryland dignitaries and the families of troops.

A big talent with an equally huge heart, Bryna has long prided herself on patriotism. Her love for her country and passion for giving back are recurring themes in both her music and in her philanthropic work. Bryna’s Los Angeles debut concert, which was held at the famous House of Blues in Hollywood earlier this summer, was a packed performance that served as a tribute to America’s Hometown Heroes and to the women of the Air National Guard. The organization selected Bryna to serve as the official spokesperson and also chose her song, “Hometown Heroes” (which she also co-wrote), for the United States Air National Guard ad campaign.

The Salute to Our Troops dinner event, hosted by The USO and Michael Tabrizi, will be held at 6:00 p.m. ET at Tabrizi’s Restaurant, located at the Baltimore Maryland’s Inner Harbor. To attend Laura Bryna’s live performance, RSVP to Meghan Hardgrove at Meghan@usometro.org or 703-696-0717 by November 5th.
